St Hubert’s for Caulfield Cup

I was invited to design and present St Hubert’s Restaurant as part of this year’s MRC Caulfield Cup. It was such an incredible opportunity to be involved in this event, working with a prestigious brand and bringing to life this amazing offering after a two year hiatus.

St Hubert’s

St Hubert’s recently underwent a remarkable transformation at their Yarra Valley location. Tasked with recreating their offering in the form of a marquee, I looked to translate the materials and atmosphere used at the winery into this temporary activation. Central to this was the use of terrazzo and concrete finishes, warm timber tones, statement lighting and an environment that showcased their award winning wines trackside.

The St Hubert’s brand is known for their iconic “stag” so it was imperative this element was reflected as part of the design. A playful approach was taken here, utilising an oversized Stag chandelier on the balcony - the perfect statement entrance piece and Instagram moment!

Working alongside the team at the Melbourne Racing Club, planning for several months ensured a successful iteration of the St Hubert’s brand - brought to life with the amazing work of Harry the Hirer, Slide Productions and Tori Allen florals.
